TC2 & TMI2 Traffic Control & Management
TC1 and TMI1 are required before you can take this course
Course Overview
TC1 and TMI1 get you on urban streets and low volume rural roads. TC2 and TMI2 get you onto high volume roads.
This combined course covers Temporary Traffic Management Category 2 environments under the Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management. You’ll learn to control traffic on high volume roads, run on-site operations and implement traffic management plans in higher speed, higher risk conditions.
It’s the natural next step once you’ve got TC1 and TMI1 under your belt and built up some hours on the road. Employers running major road projects, night works and motorway jobs need Category 2 tickets on their crews.
Not there yet? Start with our TC1 and TMI1 combined course.
Practical experience requirements
You must complete 20 hours of traffic control experience on declared Temporary Traffic Management Category 2 roads, recorded in your logbook. You also require at least three different traffic management set-ups on Category 2 roads.
Your practical assessment happens on a live job site after your hours and set-ups are complete, not before. Everything must be finished within six months of completing your classroom training.
