Course Overview

If you are working as a construction labourer, tradesperson, site manager/supervisor or someone who regularly enters a construction zone you will need a white card. This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others.

On completion of this course you will have the skills and knowledge to:

Identify and report common construction hazards
Understand basic risk control measures
Identify procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies
Correctly select and fit common personal protective equipment (PPE) used
for construction work

Do I need a White Card?
A White card is required to do any kind of building or construction work or enter any worksite.
Construction Induction Card and White Card. Are they the same?
A white card is the common name for the 1 day course - CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, and can only be provided by a registered training organisation.
Who sends me my White Card and how long does it take?
The White Card is issued by Worksafe Victoria. It can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks to arrive. Your Certificate that you get from Procon Training is evidence enough until the actual card arrives.
Can I get a job if I only have a White Card?
The White Card is not a qualification, it is simply an Induction Card which explains how to be safe on a Construction site.
Can I do this course online?
The course is no longer available to do online and must be conducted face to face in a classroom setting and by a qualified trainer.
